A private developer that had closed Nine Mile Road between Griswold Road and Briar Meadow Street in Lyon Township in April, has opened the road. The developer, Pulte Homes, closed the road to pave this section of the gravel road.
The work was done under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC).
Pulte paved slightly more than a half mile of gravel-road. Work also included a hill cut on this section of Nine Mile Road to improve sight distance for motorists. The road had been completely closed just west of the Cattails Golf Club entrance.
This section of Nine Mile Road carries approximately 700 vehicles daily.
