About Us

What Do We Do?

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) is the county-level road agency in Oakland County, Michigan.

We're your local road professionals: Local people taking care of local roads and local needs.

We've served the road needs of Oakland County for more than 100 years.

Responsibilities

RCOC maintains more than 2,700 miles of county roads, over 230 miles of state highways and approximately 1,500 county, city and state traffic signals in Oakland County. We're also leading the way in developing "smart" traffic signals -- our FAST-TRAC system -- that employ state-of-the-art computer and communications technologies to improve traffic flow, decrease travel time, enhance safety and reduce the vehicle tailpipe emissions that are characteristic of stop-and-go driving.

We hope this Web site will answer your questions about RCOC. However, if you have any questions not answered here, or you have any comments or suggestions, please send us an e-mail message. We'd appreciate hearing from you.
