[ARCHIVED] PONTIAC LAKE ROAD FROM M-59 TO CRESCENT LAKE ROAD TO CLOSE JULY 16 THROUGH JULY 17 FOR CULVERT WORK

Sample culvert photo

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Pontiac Lake Road between M-59 and Crescent Lake Road in Waterford Township to remove and replace two existing failed culverts from Saturday, July 16 through Sunday, July 17.  The work is weather-dependent, and the schedule could change.

The detour for through traffic is M-59 to Crescent Lake Road, back to Pontiac Lake Road and vice versa. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained.

The work is being done in advance of a simple resurfacing project that will take place on Pontiac Lake Road from M-59 to Hospital Road later this year. Dates for that project will be announced soon.

For more information on the project, visit the Simple Resurfacing (Preservation Overlays) page in the “Road Projects” section of the RCOC website, www.rcocweb.org (direct link: http://rcocweb.org/418/Simple-Resurfacing-Preservation-Overlays).

The work is being done by the RCOC Highway Maintenance Department. This section of Pontiac Lake Road carries approximately 8,460 vehicles per day.
