The contractor for the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) is expected to resume work Monday, April 4, on the resurfacing of Adams Road between Long Lake Road and Square Lake Road on the Troy/Bloomfield Township border.
Once work begins, the road will be closed to southbound traffic, but open to northbound traffic. The detour for southbound traffic will be Square Lake Road to Coolidge Highway to Long Lake Road and back to Adams (the same as it was last year).
Work is expected to be completed by the end of June of this year.
The road will also be closed in both directions to pedestrians during the work. The detour route for pedestrians during the work will be Adams Road to Long Lake Road to Squirrel Road and back to Adams Road and vice versa.
The project was started last summer and was expected to be completed in November 2021. However, the contractor failed to meet the completion date.
The project cost is $2.6 million. It is being paid for with a combination of federal funds and dollars from RCOC and the City of Troy. The contractor for the project is Pro-Line Asphalt of Washington Twp.
