Adams Road, Long Lake to Square Lake Road

Project Information:

Project limits:   Long Lake Road to Square Lake Road

Communities:  Bloomfield Township and City of Troy

Funding:  The estimated $2.8 million project is fifty-seven percent funded by the Nation Highway Performance Program. The remaining costs are split by the City of Troy and R.C.O.C.   

Project Includes:

  • 1.02 miles of asphalt resurfacing
  • New center left-turn lanes added at Vineyards Drive and Westview Road
  • Passing lanes and right-turn lanes will be extended in several locations
  • Drainage improvements
  • New curbs and gutters
  • Traffic signal upgrade at Long Lake/Adams Road intersection
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sidewalk ramps
  • New pavement markings
  • New signage
  • Tree removals

Contractor/Timeline/Road Closure/Detour Information:

Contractor:  Pro-Line Asphalt

Start date:  June 14

End date: Late October  Adams Road will reopen to traffic on Nov. 2. 2021.  Contractor is unable to complete the project in 2021.  Construction will resume in 2022.  

Road Closure: Yes, starting June 28, Adams Road will close to southbound traffic; however, northbound Adams Road will remain open to local traffic only.  

Detour:  The detour for southbound traffic is Adams Road to Square Lake Road to Coolidge Hwy. to Long Lake Road, back to Adams Road and vice versa.  

Access to homes and businesses maintained utilizing northbound Adams Road.
