The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) is planning two one-day closures of Davisburg Road in Springfield Township for separate culvert replacement projects starting Saturday, Oct. 16.
On Oct. 16, RCOC expects to close Davisburg Road between Bigelow and Tindall Roads. The detour for the closure is Bigelow Road to Rattalee Lake Road to Tindall Road, back to Davisburg Road and vice versa.
Davisburg Road will reopen to traffic the evening of Oct. 16. In case of inclement weather, the project could be moved to Sunday, Oct. 17.
The second closure is expected to take place on Saturday, Oct. 23. Davisburg Road will close from Dixie Highway to Bridge Lake Road.
The detour for this closure is Dixie Highway to Rattalee Lake Road to Bridge Lake Road, back to Davisburg Road and vice versa. Davisburg Road will reopen to traffic the evening of Oct. 23. In case of inclement weather, the project could be moved to Sunday, Oct. 24.
During the work, access to businesses and homes will be maintained.
The road closures are being done during the weekend to minimize traffic impacts. The culvert work will be done by RCOC Highway Maintenance Department crews.
Davisburg Road from Bigelow Road to Tindall Road carries approximately 5,270 vehicles daily. Davisburg Road from Dixie Highway to Bridge Lake Road carries approximately 2,436 vehicles daily.
