[ARCHIVED] HICKORY RIDGE ROAD, FROM STOBART RD. TO COMMERCE RD., TO CLOSE JUNE 26 FOR CULVERT WORK

Sample culvert photo

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Hickory Ridge Road from Stobart Road to Commerce Road on Saturday, June 26, for culvert replacements north and south of General Motors Road in Milford Township.

The first closure on Hickory Ridge Road for culvert removal and replacement will be just north of General Motors Road. Once complete, crews will remove and replace the culvert on Hickory Ridge Road just south of General Motors Road.

The road will close in the morning and is expected to reopen later in the evening on the same day.   However, the work is weather-dependent, and the schedule could change with work being done on Sunday, June 27.

The through-traffic detour route for both projects is Commerce Road to Pleasant Valley/Kensington Road to Stobart Road, back to Hickory Ridge Road and vice versa. Access to homes and businesses located along Hickory Ridge Road will be maintained throughout both projects; however, access will be north and south of the culvert work since the road requires a full closure for the work.

Hickory Ridge Road from Labadie Road to the Livingston County border is part of the RCOC’s 2021 Preservation Overlay (simple resurfacing) Program. The culverts are being replaced in advance of the preservation overlay project that will be completed on the road this year. Dates for the paving work will be announced soon.
