The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close West Commerce Road from Hickory Ridge to Hanover Drive in Milford Township on Friday, June 4, through Sunday, June 6, for culvert installation and pavement repairs.
The work is weather dependent, and the schedule could change. The road is expected to reopen the evening of Sunday, June 6.
The detour for through traffic is Hickory Ridge Road to General Motors Road to Huron Street to Main Street, back to West Commerce Road and vice versa.
The work is being done in advance of a preservation overly (simple resurfacing) project on West Commerce Road, from Hickory Ridge to Milford Village limits, that is planned for this year. This section of West Commerce Road carries approximately 5,070 vehicles daily.
