DTE will close Avon Road just west of Dequindre Road in Rochester Hills on Saturday, May 22, for tree clearing work that is being done in advance of overhead electrical line relocation for an upcoming Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) intersection project.
The road is expected to reopen late in day on May 22; however, it is possible that DTE may need to keep it closed for a few additional hours on Sunday, May 23.
The detour route for Avon Road traffic during for the closure is John R Road to Hamlin Road to Dequindre Road, back to Avon Road and vice versa. Access to Yates Cider Mill, east of Dequindre, will not be impacted.
The work is being done under an RCOC permit.
