The Road Commission of Oakland County (RCOC) has issued a permit to Lyon Township for the closure of Chubb Road between 9 Mile and 10 Mile roads in Lyon Township for a gravel road paving project beginning Monday, June 1.
The section of Chubb Road that will be paved is from 10 Mile Road south to just south of Hidden River Drive; however, it is necessary to close the one-mile stretch of road to through traffic for the work.
During the closure, access to homes will be maintained. The detour for through traffic is 10 Mile Road to Napier Road to 9 Mile Road, back to Chubb Road and vice versa.
The paving is being done by Lyon Township. The road is expected to reopen to traffic in late August.
This section of Chubb Road carries approximately 800 vehicles daily.
