The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has issued a permit to the City of Farmington Hills to close the 14 Mile Road/Farmington Road roundabout, on the border of Farmington Hills and West Bloomfield Twp., for paving from Saturday, June 3, through Sunday, June 4.
The paving is being done in conjunction with the city’s 14 Mile Road, Drake Road to Farmington Road, rehabilitation project.
During the closure, the detour for Farmington Road traffic is 13 Mile Road to Orchard Lake Road to Maple Road, back to Farmington Road and vice versa. 14 Mile Road is under the jurisdiction of the City of Farmington Hills.
Residential and business access will be maintained outside of the roundabout closure. The roundabout is expected to reopen on the evening of Sunday, June 4.
The contractor for the project is Florence Cement Company, on behalf of the City of Farmington Hills.
The 14 Mile Road/Farmington Road roundabout carries approximately 41,000 vehicles daily. The work is being done during the weekend to minimize traffic impacts.
