A private developer today (Wednesday, May 17) closed northbound Livernois Road, Auburn Road to Hamlin Road, in the City of Rochester Hills to widen the road at the approach to a new development just north of Auburn Road.
The work is being performed under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC). This section of northbound Livernois will remain closed through early June.
During the closure, access to businesses and residential property will be maintained via southbound Livernois, which will remain open to traffic. The detour for northbound Livernois traffic is Auburn Road to Crooks Road to Hamlin Road and back to Livernois Road.
East Edge Excavating is doing the work on behalf of the private developer. This section of northbound Livernois Road carries approximately 8,650 vehicles daily.
