The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects daily closures to continue this week for Maybee Road from Rohr Road to Baldwin Road in Orion Township for drainage improvements starting today, Sept. 6, through Sept. 9.
The daily closures will start at 8 a.m. with the road reopening nightly around 5 p.m. The work is weather-dependent, and the schedule could change.
During the work, access to homes and businesses will be maintained. The detour for through traffic is Maybee Road to Rohr Road to Gregory Road to Baldwin Road, back to Maybee Road and vice versa.
The work is being done in advance of a simple resurfacing project on Maybee Road from Rohr Road to Baldwin Road that will take place this year. Dates for the paving work will be announced soon.
The drainage improvement work is being done by RCOC’s Highway Maintenance Department. This section of Maybee Road carries approximately 6,800 vehicles daily.
