The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will close Groveland Road between Barron Road and M-15 in Groveland Township, from Tuesday, July 26, through Thursday, July 28, from approximately 7 am to 4 pm each day, to replace six culverts.
The detour for through traffic will be Barron Road to Grange Hall Road to M-15 and back to Groveland Road and vice versa. Access to homes and businesses in this section of Groveland Road will be maintained.
The work is being done in advance of a resurfacing project that will take place from Barron Road to M-15. Resurfacing is expected to begin Aug. 1 and be completed by late September.
The $1.09 million project will be paid for with a mix of federal funds and RCOC dollars. It will include paving with asphalt and new pavement markings.
The contractor for this project is Ace-Saginaw Paving Company of Port Huron. This section of Groveland Road carries approximately 1,800 vehicles per day.
