[ARCHIVED] RCOC LAUNCHES UPDATED, MORE USER-FRIENDLY WEBSITE

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has launched an updated website intended to improve the user experience. The site retains the same web address, www.rcocweb.org.

“The redesigned website is simpler, cleaner and easier to use,” explained RCOC Managing Director Dennis Kolar. “It retains all the same valuable information, but the streamlined design makes it easier to find and access the information you need.”

He added the site provides all the information that people most frequently ask for, such as how to report a pothole, what roads the agency is improving, how gravel roads are maintained, the schedule for gravel-road dust control, why roundabouts are a better option at some intersection, the current congestion level on specific RCOC roads, and much more.

“Web technology is continuously evolving,” Kolar noted. “That means we need to periodically update our website to ensure it remains user-friendly and best meets our customers’ needs. This update helps to ensure that we are meeting those goals.”

Kolar added that he encourages anyone interested to visit the site and poke around. “Even if you visit our site regularly, there is probably information available there that you are not aware of,” he stated. “There is just a ton of road-related information on the site, intended to answer just about any question you could have about RCOC roads. There are also links to our social media platforms and a link to submit a question or concern. This site is the backbone of our communications efforts, and we want to make sure it best serves the residents, motorists and businesses of Oakland County.”

Additionally, the redesigned site links more easily with the recently redesigned RCOC app, which provides users with quick access to the most popular portions of the website. The app is available for free by searching “Road Commission for Oakland County” wherever apps are downloaded.
