The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has closed Hatchery Road, from Dixie Highway to Airport Road in Waterford Township, starting today, Monday, June 13, for bridge replacement over the Clinton River.
During the closure, residential and business access will be maintained east and west of the bridge; however, the road is completely closed at the bridge. The detour for through traffic is Dixie Highway to Williams Lake Road to Airport Road, back to Hatchery Road and vice versa.
The project, which will cost approximately $4 million, is mostly funded by the State of Michigan’s Local Bridge Program with the remaining amount provided by RCOC.
The work is expected to be completed in late fall. The contractor for the project is Toebe Construction of Wixom.
This section of Hatchery Road carries approximately 9,100 vehicles daily. For more information on the project, visit the Hatchery Road bridge project page in the “Road Projects” section of the RCOC website, www.rcoc.org (direct link: http://rcocweb.org/648/Hatchery-Road-Bridge-Replacement-over-th).
