The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) continues watermain replacement work requiring another closure of 14 Mile Road from Decker Road/Novi Road to Walled Lake Road on the Novi/Walled Lake border starting Monday, March 21, and lasting through approximately mid-June.

During the work, access to homes and businesses will be maintained. The detour for the 14 Mile Road closure is Decker Road to Maple Road to Pontiac Trail to East Walled Lake Drive, back to 14 Mile Road and vice versa.

The work is being done under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC).

The GLWA contractor for the project is Major Cement Company of Detroit. 14 Mile Road from Decker Road/Novi Road to Walled Lake Drive carries approximately 8,700 vehicles daily. This is a continuation of work that was ongoing throughout 2021.

14 Mile Road, from Haggerty Road to Walled Lake Road, will have simple resurfacing work done this construction season under RCOC’s 2022 Preservation Overlay program. Plans for this work will be announced after GLWA completes its work.

For more information on the watermain project and concerns, contact GLWA at 844-455-4592 or email info@glwater.org.
