The Road Commission for Oakland (RCOC) expects to close Oakwood Road between Baldwin Road and Persidio Lane in Brandon Township to replace two culverts on Aug. 27. The project is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled to Aug. 28.
The detour for through traffic will be North Hurd Road to Hummer Lake Road to Baldwin Road back to Oakwood Road and vice versa. Access to homes within the closure area will be maintained. The culvert near Baldwin Road will be replaced first, and then crews will replace the second culvert just east of Persidio Lane.
The RCOC Highway Maintenance Department will do the work. The one-day project is expected to be complete on Aug. 27.
This section of Oakwood Road carries approximately 4,800 vehicles daily.
