The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will close westbound Walton Blvd between Squirrel and Adams roads in Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills for culvert repair work beginning Friday, Aug. 19, following morning rush-hour traffic.
The detour for the closure is Adams Road to Tienken Road to Squirrel Road, back to Walton Blvd. and vice versa. Through traffic is advised to use the detour; most residential and business access will be maintained. Residential access at Firewood Drive and Walton will be closed, residents are advised to use Tienken or Adams to get around the closure.
RCOC Highway Maintenance Department staff will be repairing the culvert. The project is expected to conclude the evening Sunday, Aug. 21.
Westbound Walton Blvd carries approximately 20,000 vehicles daily.
