The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has authorized the closure of Walnut Lake Road between Pontiac Trail and Haggerty Road to through traffic beginning Monday, Aug. 15, to facilitate road construction affiliated with a new business development in Commerce Township.
During the closure, Contracting Resources Inc./ASI Paving will mill, widen and pave the area near the new business approach. The work is being done under a permit issued by RCOC.
The detour for the closure is Pontiac Trail to Haggerty Road, back to Walnut Lake Road and vice versa.
The project is expected to conclude on approximately Sept. 2. Walnut Lake Road carries approximately 4,500 vehicles daily.
