Beverly Hills, MI – The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), in partnership with Lyon Township, expects to begin resurfacing Milford Road from Lyon Center Drive to Pontiac Trail on Aug. 15.
One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction throughout the project. There will be a weekend closure of the southbound Milford Road entrance ramp to eastbound I-96; dates to be announced.
The $663,000 is split equally between the RCOC and Lyon Township.
“The project will start following the Milford Memories Summer Festival scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 12-14,” RCOC Board Chairman, Ron Fowkes said. “We sincerely appreciate Lyon Township’s financial participation in this project,” he added. “Having a smooth gateway into the community will be a tremendous enhancement.”
The project includes:
• Milling the surface of the road
• Road-base repair
• New guardrails
• Asphalt paving
The contractor for the project is Pro-Line Paving Corporation of Washington Township. The project is expected to conclude in early October.
Milford Road carries approximately 30,000 vehicles daily.
