The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will begin replacing concrete slabs on Orchard Lake Road from just south of 11 Mile Road to I-696 in Farmington Hills starting Monday, June 14.   The start date of June 10 was delayed by the contractor.

The work will require lane closures on Orchard Lake Road. At least one lane in each direction will remain open to traffic during the work that is expected to be completed by August. Access to businesses and side streets will be maintained during the work.

Cipparrone Contracting, of Southfield, is the contractor for the work. This section of Orchard Lake Road carries approximately 24,000 vehicles daily.

Motorists should also be aware that if they see little activity within the construction area, it is due to the fact that the concrete must cure before it can be driven on, which can take a week or more.
