[ARCHIVED] WATERMAIN WORK CONTINUES ON 14 MILE ROAD FROM WEST OF DECKER/NOVI RD TO WELCH RD

The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) continues watermain replacement work on 14 Mile Road from just west Decker Road/Novi Road to Welch Road on the border of Novi, Walled Lake and Commerce Twp.

            During the work, 14 Mile Road is closed west of the Decker Road/Novi Road intersection. Additionally, 14 Mile Road from Decker/Novi to Welch Road is open to eastbound traffic only.  

            The detour for the 14 Mile Road closure just west of Decker Road/Novi Road and for 14 Mile Road westbound traffic from Decker Road/Novi Road to Welch Road is Pontiac Trail to Maple Road to M-5, back to 14 Mile Road and vice versa.

            The work is expected to be completed in late summer and is being done under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC).  

            This watermain work is being done by Major Cement Company of Detroit. 14 Mile Road from Decker Road/Novi Road to Welch Road carries approximately 11,610 vehicles daily. 14 Mile Road from Decker Road/Novi Road to Walled Lake Drive carries approximately 8,660 vehicles daily.
