The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has approved a permit allowing Consumers Energy to close Currie Road from 8 Mile Road to 9 Mile Road in Lyon Township for gas main work starting Wednesday, April 14, through Wednesday, April 21.
During the closure, access to homes and businesses on the road will be maintained.
The detour for through traffic is 8 Mile Road to Napier Road to 10 Mile Road and vice versa.
Additionally, Currie Road from 9 Mile Road to 10 Mile Road in Lyon Township will close to through traffic on Monday, April 12, through early October for a gravel road paving project.
The gas main work is being done by Henkels and McCoy Inc. This section of Currie Road carries approximately 1,780 vehicles per day.
