The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Dequindre Road from north of Auburn Road to Collins Avenue on the Rochester Hills/Shelby Township border on Tuesday, Oct. 20, through early November as part of the ongoing Dequindre Road widening project from Utica Road to Collins Avenue.
Auburn Road will be open to traffic through the Dequindre intersection prior to the closure of Dequindre Road north of Auburn Road.
During the closure, access to homes and businesses along Dequindre Road between Auburn Road and Collins Avenue will be maintained. There are two detour routes for Dequindre through traffic: Auburn Road to John R Road to Hamlin Road back to Dequindre Road and vice versa or Auburn Road to Ryan Road to Hamlin Road back to Dequindre Road and vice versa.
Anyone interested can watch the progress of the project on the RCOC website (www.rcocweb.org), by clicking on the “Dequindre Road Construction Work Zone Camera” link in the “Helpful Links” section at the bottom of the home page. Site visitors can view photos of the project or a time-lapse series that combines all photos taken in succession. RCOC will produce a compilation of all the photos following the completion of the project.
The Dequindre Road construction project is expected to be completed in late fall.
