The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) resurfacing project on Ormond Road from north of White Lake Road to Davisburg Road in Springfield and White Lake townships has been delayed by the contractor. The project had been expected to start Aug. 17; the new start date will be announced soon.
During the work, the road will remain open to traffic with flaggers directing motorists in the work zones.
The $1.13 million project will be paid for with a mix of federal funds and RCOC dollars. It will include paving with asphalt, guardrail replacement and new pavement markings.
The work is being done by Cadillac Asphalt of Clarkston. This section of Ormond Road carries approximately 3,000 vehicles daily.
