The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Ormond Road between Davisburg and White Lake roads in Springfield Township on Monday, July 20, for continued work on a culvert replacement. The work is weather-dependent, and the closure could be delayed.
The road was closed Friday, July 17, and the work had been expected to be completed that day. The road will reopen today for the weekend. The extra day is needed due to an unexpected utility conflict that needs to be resolved by Consumers Energy. The road is expected to be re-opened by end of day Monday.
During the closure, the detour for through traffic will be White Lake Road to Milford Road to Davisburg Road, back to Ormond Road and vice versa. Access to homes and businesses in the closed section will be maintained during the closure. The culvert work is located between Parker Road and Scott Road.
Ormond Road from the White Lake Township/Springfield Township border to Davisburg Road will be resurfaced later this year. The date for that work will be announced soon. For more information, visit: http://rcocweb.org/418/Preservation-Overlays.
This section of Ormond Road carries approximately 6,200 vehicles daily.
