The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Fairhill Road at Pickering Road in Bloomfield Township July 24 through late August for culvert removal and replacement.
Pickering Road will remain open to traffic during the work. Access to homes on Fairhill Road will be maintained during the work. The detour is Pickering Road to Kingswood Drive, back to Fairhill Road and vice versa.
The culvert on Fairhill Road is the first of three culverts in the subdivision that will be removed and replaced. Dates for the additional work will be announced soon.
The contractor for the project is VIL Construction of Sterling Heights. Fairhill Road carries approximately 300 vehicles daily.
The entire project is expected to be completed in late fall. For more information on the project, visit: http://rcocweb.org/545/Pickering-Road-Culvert-Replacements.
