[ARCHIVED] CONCRETE SLAB REPLACEMNT TO BEGIN JUNE 18 ON ORCHARD LAKE RD, FROM GRAND RIVER AVE. TO I-696

traffic shift

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to begin concrete slab replacement work on Orchard Lake Road from Grand River Avenue to I-696 in the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills beginning Thursday, June 18.

The work is expected to conclude in late summer.

During the work, the road will remain open to traffic; however, motorists can expect lane closures. Access to all homes and businesses will be maintained during the work.

The work will involve removing and replacing failing concrete slabs. There will be lengthy lane closures due to necessary cure times for the new concrete. Once the new concrete meets testing standards, the closed lanes will be sealed and reopened to traffic.

The contractor for the project is Cipparrone Contracting of Southfield. This section of Orchard Lake Road carries about 22,000 vehicles daily.
