[ARCHIVED] ROCHESTER RD BETWEEN GERST AND BORDMAN IN ADDISON TWP TO CLOSE JULY 18 FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will begin work on the resurfacing of Rochester Road between Gerst and Bordman roads in Addison Township on July 18.

The road will close to through traffic; however, business and residential access will be maintained throughout the project.

The detour for the closure is Elmwood Road to Leonard Road to Secord Lake Road to Bordman Road back to Rochester Road and vice versa.

The approximately $2.45 million project is mostly funded with federal dollars. The remaining amount will be covered by the RCOC. The project includes:
• Crushing and reshaping the existing road base
• Resurfacing the road with six inches of asphalt
• Replacement of several culverts
• Improved drainage
Rochester Road carries approximately 3,500 vehicles daily.

The contractor for the project is Dan’s Excavating of Shelby Township. The project is expected to conclude in early November.
