RCOC EXPECTS TO CLOSE SASHABAW RD FROM SHERWOOD TO GRANGER
IN BRANDON TWP BEGINNING JULY 1
Beverly Hills, MI--The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Sashabaw Road between Sherwood and Granger roads in Brandon Township beginning July1 in order to pave the gravel road.
The construction is expected to be complete in late fall.
During construction, residential access will be maintained. The detour for through traffic is Sherwood Road to Perry Lake Road to Granger Road, back to Sashabaw Road and vice versa.
The approximately $3.2 million project is 80 percent federally funded with the remaining portion shared by RCOC, Brandon Township and Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party Program).
The project includes:
- Paving this one-mile section of gravel road with asphalt
- Shoulder paving in some areas
- Storm sewer installation
- Improved drainage
- Some curb and gutter installation
The contractor for the project is Zito Construction of Grand Blanc, MI.
