Beverly Hills, MI – The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Franklin Road to through traffic from Lone Pine Road to Quarton Road in Bloomfield Township on Saturday, May 18, to replace two culverts under the road.
The culverts are located just north of Quarton Road and between Lakewood and Inwood roads.
Residential access will be maintained during work.
The detour for through traffic is Quarton Road to Inkster Road to Lone Pine Road, back to Franklin Road and vice versa.
The culvert replacements are expected to be complete by the end of the day on May 18. In case of inclement weather, an alternate date of May 19 has been set for the culvert replacements.
The work is being done in advance of resurfacing (preservation overlay) work on Franklin Road from Walnut Lake Road to Lone Pine Road.
Franklin Road carries approximately 4,800 vehicles daily. The work is being done on the weekend to minimize traffic impacts.
