The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will host a public information meeting on Thursday, May 7, about the concrete-replacement project plan for this year on 10 Mile Road from Evergreen Road to Greenfield Road in Southfield.
The meeting is from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the City of Southfield Campus, Marcotte Room (in the lower level of the Pavilion), 26000 Evergreen Road. The meeting will be an open-house format -- there will be no formal presentations. RCOC staff will be present to answer questions and discuss the project throughout the meeting.
Construction is expected to start in late June and be completed in the fall.
The approximately $3.2 million project cost will be shared by RCOC, Southfield and Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party Program).
The project includes:
- Removal and replacement of failing sections of concrete
- Replacement of some curbs and gutters
- Upgrades to pedestrian crosswalks to comply with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA)
- Upgrades to several bus stops
During construction, one lane open of 10 Mile will remain open in each direction. Access to businesses will be maintained throughout the project; however, there will side-street approach closures throughout the project.
