The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will host a public information meeting on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the planned 2019 paving of Sashabaw Road from Sherwood Road to Granger Road in Brandon Township.
The meeting will take place at Brandon Middle School, 609 South Ortonville Road, Brandon Township. The meeting will be open-house format -- there will be no formal presentations. RCOC staff will be present to answer questions and review the project plans throughout the public meeting.
The project is expected to begin in the summer of 2019 and be completed in the fall of 2019.
During construction, the road will be closed to through traffic; however, residential traffic will be maintained.
The detour for through traffic will be Sherwood Road to Perry Road to Granger Road, back to Sashabaw Road vice versa.
The approximate $2.2 million project is eighty percent federally funded with the remaining portion shared by the RCOC, Brandon Township and Oakland County general government through the Tri-Party Program.
The project includes:
- Paving this one-mile section of gravel road with asphalt
- Shoulder paving in some areas
- Storm sewer installation
- Improved drainage
- Some curb and gutter installation
