The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Manor Road over the Rouge River in Bloomfield Township on Monday, Aug. 20, to perform preventative maintenance on the bridge over the river.
The road is expected to reopen shortly after the Labor Day holiday. The detour for through traffic is Brookdale Road to Big Beaver to Adams Road to Abbey Street to Warwick Street and vice versa.
Work includes removing the bridge’s gravel surface, waterproofing the deck and resurfacing only the bridge approaches and deck with asphalt.
This project is part of a $321,970 program funded by the RCOC to perform preventative maintenance on three bridges in Oakland County. The work will extend the life of the bridges.
Z Contractors of Shelby Township will perform the work.
