[ARCHIVED] TRIPP RD RECONSTRUCTION IN GROVELAND TWP EXPECTED TO BEGIN JULY 30; WILL CLOSE TO THROUGH TRAFFIC

Tripp Road prior to construction

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to begin the reconstruction of Tripp Road between Dixie Highway and Van Road/Grange Hall Road in Groveland Township on Monday, July 30.

Tripp Road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project beginning July 30. The road is expected to re-open to traffic approximately mid-November.

The detour for through traffic is Dixie Hwy to Grange Hall Road and vice versa. Residential access will be maintained throughout the project.

The project includes the complete reconstruction of this one-mile road, including widening the shoulders, installation of curbs and gutters, construction of storm sewers and the replacement of the culvert that carries the Thread Creek under the road.

The $2.3 million project will be paid for with a combination of federal funds and dollars from RCOC, Groveland Twp. and Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party Program).

The contractor for the project is Angelo Iafrate Construction of Warren. Tripp Road carries approximately 2,300 vehicles daily.
