SOUTH BLVD WEST OF COOLIDGE HWY CLOSURE EXTENDED
UNTIL EARLY AUGUST FOR CULVERT REPLACEMENT
Beverly Hills, MI – The ongoing closure of South Blvd. between Coolidge Hwy. and Adams Road in the communities of Troy and Rochester Hills will be extended into early August.
The road is closed while the contractor for the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) replaces the culvert that carries the Borden Drain under South Blvd. just west of Coolidge Hwy. The project began July 16. The culvert replacement was originally expected to be completed by approximately July 21, but the process has taken longer than anticipated.
Once the culvert replacement is complete in early August, the eastbound lanes of South Blvd. from Adams to Coolidge Road will remain closed for reconstruction for the duration of the project. Westbound South Blvd. will remain open to traffic.
The detour for the culvert replacement and eastbound traffic closures is South Blvd. to Squirrel Road to Square Lake Road to Crooks Road, back to South Blvd and vice versa.
Residential and business access is being maintained throughout the project.
South Blvd carries approximately 10,360 vehicles daily.
The contractor for the project is Pro-line Asphalt of Washington Twp. The South Blvd. work is expected to conclude approximately mid-September. For more information on the South Blvd project, visit: http://www.rcocweb.org/442/South-Boulevard.
