The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will close South Blvd. between Coolidge Hwy. and Adams Road in the communities of Troy and Rochester Hills for the Borden Drain culvert replacement beginning July 16. The culvert is just west of Coolidge Hwy.
Once the culvert replacement is complete -- approximately July 21 early August-- the eastbound lanes of South Blvd. from Adams to Coolidge Road will remain closed for reconstruction for the duration of the project. Westbound South Blvd. will open to traffic following the culvert replacement.
The detour route during the culvert replacement and eastbound traffic closure is South Blvd. to Squirrel Road to Square Lake Road to Crooks Road, back to South Blvd and vice versa.
Residential and business access will be maintained throughout the project.
South Blvd carries approximately 10,360 vehicles daily.
The contractor for the project is Pro-line Asphalt of Washington Twp. The South Blvd. work is expected to conclude approximately mid-September.
