The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close the south half of the Halsted Road intersection at Maple Road in West Bloomfield Township on Monday, June 11 for intersection improvement work that is part of the ongoing Maple Road project between Drake and Halsted roads.
Separate detours have been set up for traffic that utilizes northbound and southbound Halsted Road south of Maple Road.
The detour for southbound Halsted Road traffic is eastbound Maple Road to southbound Drake Road to westbound 14 Mile Road, back to Halsted Road.
The detour for northbound Halsted Road is westbound 14 Mile Road to northbound Haggerty Road to eastbound Maple Road, back to Halsted Road.
The closure is expected to last approximately 14 days and should reopen in late-June.
The north half of the Halsted Road at Maple Road intersection will remain open to traffic.
The Maple Road project between Drake and Halsted roads involves major resurfacing, widening to three lanes and drainage improvements.
