[ARCHIVED] PORTION OF SOUTH BLVD./ROCHESTER RD INTERSECTION TO CLOSE MAY 10 FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Beverly Hills, MI – The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will close South Blvd. at Rochester Road on the Rochester Hills/Troy border beginning Tuesday, May 10, for road construction. Rochester Road also will be reduced to one lane in each direction at South Boulevard.

Eastbound and westbound South Blvd. traffic will be detoured to Livernois Road to Square Lake Road to John R Road back to South Blvd. and vice versa.

South Blvd. is expected to be open to traffic in early July. All paving should be completed by early August.

The $2.7 million intersection improvement project is funded through a partnership between the RCOC, Rochester Hills, Troy and the Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party Program).

The project includes:
• New traffic signal at South Blvd./Rochester intersection
• Remove and replace concrete in South Blvd./Rochester intersection
• Resurfacing South Blvd. from east of Livernois to west of John R
• Extension of right turn lane from eastbound South Blvd. to southbound Rochester Road

The prime contractor for the project is Cadillac Asphalt of Canton Township.
