The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will host a public information meeting on Tuesday, May 22, about the upcoming construction project on Adams Road between Square Lake Road and South Blvd in the communities of Troy and Bloomfield Township.
The meeting is from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Deerfield Elementary School, 3600 Crooks Road, Rochester Hills. It will be an open-house format -- there will be no formal presentations. RCOC staff will be present to answer questions throughout the public meeting.
During the public meeting, plans for South Blvd construction between Adams and Crooks roads in the communities of Troy and Rochester Hills will also be available.
The approximately $2.1 million Adams project will include:
- Sealing the existing road surface followed by asphalt paving
- Improved drainage
- Shoulder widening
- Traffic signal upgrades
The project is expected to begin in July. During construction, the road will remain open to two-way traffic with lane restrictions until early August. Beginning approximately August 8, Adams Road will be closed for southbound traffic and have one-lane open for northbound traffic between Square Lake Road and the I-75 ramps.
The southbound Adams Road traffic detour will be Square Lake Road to Squirrel Road to South Blvd, back to Adams Road and vice versa. The southbound closure will remain in place until completion of the project which is expected in late October.
