Beverly Hills, MI – Consumer’s Energy will fully close Big Beaver Road between Woodward Ave. (M-1) and Adams Road in Bloomfield Township and Birmingham on Tuesday, April 12, for continued utility relocation work. This includes closing the currently open section of Big Beaver from Kensington to Adams.
The utility relocation work, expected to take through approximately May 31, is being done in preparation for the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) reconstruction of the road, which will start once the utility relocation is complete. The road will remain closed to traffic for construction and is expected to re-open late fall.
Access to homes and businesses along Big Beaver within the construction zone will be maintained throughout the road closure.
The detour for through traffic will be Woodward Avenue to Long Lake Road to Adams Road and back to Big Beaver and vice versa.
Also closed to through traffic during the work is Ivy Street just north of Big Beaver between Kensington and Adams roads.
