The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Livernois Road north of Square Lake Road in the City of Troy on Nov. 8.
The closure is necessary to replace a culvert that carries the Gibson Drain under the road. The road will remain closed until approximately late-November.
The through-traffic detour route is South Blvd to Crooks Road to Square Lake Road, back to Livernois and vice versa.
Residential access will be maintained; however, the culvert is located between Pine Creek Court and Telford/Aspinwall drives, so residents will need to access their homes from either north or south of the closure.
The $567,500 project is funded by RCOC. The project includes:
- Removal and replacement of the existing culvert
- Construction of new head and wing walls for the culvert
- Guardrail installation
- Hot-mix-asphalt paving over the new culvert
The contractor for the project is L. D’Agostini and Sons of Macomb Township. This section of Livernois Road carries approximately 14,000 vehicles daily.
