The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) is expecting to close Drake Road at the south side of the 12 Mile/Drake Road intersection for concrete replacement beginning Monday, Sept. 25. The closure is part of the ongoing 12 Mile Road pavement repair work in Farmington Hills.
The detour for Drake Road traffic is 11 Mile Road to Halsted Road to 12 Mile Road, back to Drake Road and vice versa.
The closure is expected to last approximately 19 days, and the intersection should fully reopen mid- October.
The $2.6 million project began on Aug. 14. The project includes replacing bad sections of concrete on 12 Mile Road between Haggerty and Farmington roads. The entire project is expected to be complete in mid-November.
