The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to begin preventative work on two bridges on 12 Mile Road between Lahser Road and Telegraph Road in Southfield on Monday, June 19. 12 Mile Road will remain open to traffic, but there will be lane closures and motorists should expect delays during peak travel times.
The work is expected to be completed by Aug. 7. The first bridge spans the Rouge River. The second is over the Franklin branch of the Rouge River.
The approximately $922,000 project is being paid for with federal, state and RCOC funds. The project includes:
- Concrete repairs
- Partial painting
The contractor for the project is C. A. Hull of Commerce Township.
