The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to begin a six-and-a-half-mile resurfacing project on Oakwood Road between Leece Road and M-24 on the Brandon Township/Oxford Township border on Thursday, June 15.
The approximately $1.52 million project is being paid for with federal and RCOC funds. The project includes:
- Milling (grinding off the top layer of existing asphalt where it has failed)
- Resurfacing with asphalt
- New pavement markings
During construction, Oakwood Road will remain open to traffic, but will be reduced to one lane in places, with flaggers directing motorists in the work zone areas.
The contractor for the project is Ace-Saginaw Paving Company of Flint. The project is expected to conclude in early July.
