The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Silver Lake Road at Walton Blvd. in Waterford Twp. from Monday, July 31, through approximately Aug. 21, for intersection work that is part of the ongoing resurfacing project on Walton Blvd., Clintonville Road to the Pontiac city limits.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on Walton Blvd. throughout the Silver Lake Road closure. The detours for the Sliver Lake Road closure at Walton Blvd. will be:
- Detour route for vehicles traveling north on Silver Lake Road to Walton Blvd.: Dixie Highway to Sashabaw Road to Walton Blvd.
- Detour route for vehicles traveling from Walton Blvd. to southbound Silver Like Road: Telegraph Road to Dixie Highway to Silver Lake Road.
The contractor for the project is Florence Cement of Shelby Township. This section of Silver Lake Road carries approximately 9,600 vehicles daily.
The entire Walton Blvd. project is expected to be completed in mid-November.
