The planned closure of Silver Lake Road at Walton Blvd. in Waterford Twp., part of the ongoing resurfacing project on Walton Blvd., has been delayed from its previously announced date of July 6.
The closure is being delayed by Florence Cement, the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) contractor for the Walton Blvd. project. A new date for the closure will be announced soon.
The resurfacing project includes the section of Walton Blvd. from Clintonville Road to the Pontiac city limits. The Silver Lake intersection closure is necessary so the contractor can complete work in the intersection.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on Walton Blvd. throughout the Silver Lake closure. The detours for the Sliver Lake Road closure at Walton Blvd. will be:
- Detour route for vehicles traveling north on Silver Lake Road to Walton Blvd.: Dixie Highway to Sashabaw Road to Walton Blvd.
- Detour route for vehicles traveling from Walton Blvd. to southbound Silver Like Road: Telegraph Road to Dixie Highway to Silver Lake Road.
This section of Silver Lake Road carries approximately 9,600 vehicles daily.
The expected closure of Silver Lake Road at Walton Blvd. will last for approximately 21 days. The entire Walton Blvd. project is expected to be completed in approximately mid-November.
