The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will begin resurfacing 12 Mile Road between Inkster and Franklin roads in Southfield and Franklin Road from Maple to north of Walnut Lake Road in Bloomfield Township on approximately October 5.
Milling and resurfacing on 12 Mile Road is expected to begin this Wednesday (Oct.5). Once complete, the contractor will then mill and pave Franklin Road. Both roads will be paved with a 2-inch asphalt overlay.
During work, the roads will remain open to traffic; however, flaggers will direct motorists when necessary. Motorists can expect some delays.
The projects were combined for efficiency purposes, and the low bid of $374,884 was awarded to Cadillac Asphalt of Canton Township.
Both projects are expected to be complete by the end of October. The work dependent on weather, equipment and material, and the schedule could change.
