The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has authorized the closure of Cass Lake Road between Front Street and Stapleton Drive, in Keego Harbor, to through traffic beginning Tuesday, Oct. 4, to facilitate the installation of a pedestrian bridge for a private development.
The section of road will be closed Monday through Saturday; however, it will be open during Saturday evenings and Sunday during the construction. Business and residential access will be maintained throughout the closure.
The detour for the closure is Orchard Lake Road to Telegraph Road (US-24) to Highland Road (M-59) to Elizabeth Lake Road back to Cass Lake Road and vice versa.
The contractor for the project is Braun Construction Group, and work is being done under a permit issued by RCOC.
The project is expected to conclude on approximately on Oct. 23. Cass Lake Road carries approximately 16,000 vehicles daily.
